Paphiopedilum parnatanum
These are so pretty P.K. I know the bottom is a paph is the top one also?
Very pretty. Vanda? I know that Mr Hansen is a very good Paph grower so how did this happen?

I guess I’m replying to my own question. I checked. There IS indeed a Paph. Vanda M. Pearman. A bit strange though.

They're both beautiful. Where did you get the parnatanum? Denmark?
When you don't write Paphiopedilum in front of it, the genus appears to be Vanda. And I'm not very familiar with names of hybrids within the genus Paphiopedilum. That's why.

The word Vanda is used as an (unusual) girl's name. So this orchid is named for a lady. A very beautiful one, too.
But I do agree, for the benfit of those who browse these pages, and are not quite so well up in orchid taxonomy, It might have been better to say Paph. Vanda Pearman... but I'm not criticising.
