In the oncidium alliance, but sufficiently far away to justify me posting in "other" rather than in the pure oncidium section.
A spike maybe 18 inches high with half a dozen or so rather well-spaced flowers ; small -just over 1 inch high , but as they say "worthy of inspection".
I have one or two other Caucaea species, all of which arrive as a small bundle of small bulbs. The first spikes are often just 8 inches or so, but as the plants get better established, the do improve..This one is now up to three leads in a 3 ½ inch pot, and may perhaps grow into a plant "worth showing" one day.

Wow, that is just gorgeous! I don't recall hearing that name before. Is it an Oncidium related species?

Caucaea species were mostly Oncidium at some point. At least one was also scattered across Leochlius, Gomesa, Rodriguezia at times. There are a few hybrids with Comparettia, Rhynchostele, Cyrtochilum and Oncidium, so they are firmly in Oncidium alliance.

Not often seen, so thanks for posting Geoff.
