A belated Happy Birthday to you Bruce and may you be blessed with many more to come. And congrats on your new great niece....I have a few great nieces and nephews myself. I have been neglecting my orchids of late. I'm now starting a new hobby, birding and bird photography. Some friends think I'm crazy to start at 81 but then when have orchidists been sane, anyway?
Fortunately, the hardy orchids have not only managed to survive but some even have bloomed - an Angraecum Veitchii bloomed for the first time and I notice that some of my soft cane dendrobes are already budding. A friend of mine gifted me a Cymbidium chloranthum 2 years ago and it has since bloomed 3 times (seems to bloom on every new matured p-bulb). Will post photos of it on the next blooming.

That is wonderful, Yew!! Life is a journey and we should not be afraid of our age, but embrace it- learning something each day in the process. Thank you for the birthday wishes and congratulations for my new great niece. I look forward to seeing what you have in bloom and when you feel like you can share some of your bird photography, we do have a section in the forum to share photos beyond plants.

    cheers,
    BD
