I got it as Phrag. warszewiczianum x bessae.
Some think warczewiczianum is a synonym for wallisii.
Others think it is Phrag. humboldtii var. warszewiczianum.
In former times Phragmipedium humboldtii was listed under warszewiczianum. This is known for its very dark red shoes
Nevertheless a nice flower
Another red...I'm in love.
Beautiful!
What a cracker, whatever it is ; according to Braem in his recent book on the genus ( which I hear is well-regarded at Kew ) P.humboldtii is not a valid name. It was never intended to be any more than a name for P.caudatum, and was allocated to selenipediem.....
.wallisii was described by Reichenbach in error ; it is based on the same plant which he had described 22 years earlier and called warscewiczianum. Of course no easy internet in those days to help check your research !
I do like warscewiczianum as a name ) there are other examples in different genera) because I know how to pronounce it even if i can't spell it right ... actually it is a name in the Polish nobility, I think the guy was a Baron or maybe a Count
Many thanks for the expert comments.
