    This is what you might call a bread-and-butter hybrid. Nothing special, just one bought from a garden centre , nameless as they usually are. But white or near white flowers are very useful in several situations ; they are good in displays to separate other plants of more colour, and avoid colour clashes ; they are also good in displays in the house, in darkish corners as they stand out so well.

    I just don't seem to get fragrance in most orchids ; thought it was my nose, but right now I have a fine shrub in flower in my garden - Daphne odora "Jacqui Postil' - I keep it trimmed to about 6 ft high and as wide. It is more or less evergreen, but the leaves completely hidden by pink flowers ( about a whole month earlier than usual) . The perfume fills that part of the garden - in the sun, and with no wind, I am aware of it when 25 yards away. So, not my nose....
