    Hi,

does anyone have any info what to do if the wind had broken the stem with beatiful flowers? It was blooming and now it's destroyed. ( Will it grow and bloom in the future. What shall I do? Can it get some infection??

You can put the broken part in a vase with water, the flowers may last for a few weeks. The other part attaching to the plant might branch out, so you might get some more blooms.

    Sorry for the trouble .
Is it the bloom stem or the cane ? If it is the bloom stem I would remove it with a new razor blade and enjoy it in a vase , If it is the cane make a clean cut with a new blade at the break apply peroxcide to the cut and coat with Cinnamon . Keep the cut dry . It will be fine .

oooh doesn't that just get you mad when that happens... but thankfully, if it's just broken it doesn't mean it's dead!

Like Gin and Qing said, the flower stalk can be put in a vase and enjoyed for a little while. But if it is the cane of the plant then, what Gin said is right, cut it and seal with Cinnamon.

Now, has anyone heard of the broken part being laid on a sphagnum moss up and that sometimes produces a keiki???

I'm not a Dend. gal, Tim, but the few I've had keiki like there's no tomorrow. I'd bet with a bit of keiki paste, and maybe without, it would start coughing up keikis like hairballs.

Thanks for your tip. Will it really bloom? How can I make sure it will?
By the way, I did cut the bloom off and seal it with mealted candle.

    To all you guys,
Actually, I have 3 orchids of different kinds: phalaenopsis, dendrobium and a cambria. My cambria has just stopped blooming and now a new stem started to grow. I have read somewhere that after the stem has finished growing it should be watered less for 8 weeks and then it should start blooming.
Waiting for your experienced advise. )
