Once upon a time Brassavola, now Rhyncholaelia. It takes several years before this one starts blooming, for me five years after reaching blooming size. But once it had its first blooms in 2019 it seemed to understand what it was about. Not a very good clone this one but the blooms are still impressive.

Very rarely seen in flower , this side of the pond, in fact in nearly sixty years of growing I can only recall seeing it twice - and I go to all the major shows within reach. I have three plants, two of which are surely flowering size- one has two leads now. So your info’ about how many years at that size before flowering is heartening, maybe mine will get there by 2023....

The flowers don't last as long as I thought. I think three weeks at most.
