Looks pretty in the whole bunch I cant imagine if they through away the spikes..wow really outstanding. The new pot looks nice to me and it's alright if you want to separate from the mother plant.

Is it ok to divide and repot the division this way? As you can see on the big plant there are pieces hanging off. Is it ok to take those off and repot the way I have? It's been so many years since I got the plant, I don't remember how it was potted. I've got it in a basket now and I'm sure it was in a smaller basket when I reported it. But prior to that my memory isn't so sure.
Thanks!

Thanks Zain. Yes I was just going to separate a couple to give to my mom/and friend. It will start to bud next month. Is it best to divide it after. I know it won't hurt the mother. She's substantial. But does it matter either way to the division?

If you want to see the outstanding presentation better hold on, I do agree with you in optimum condition if the bud already formed usually it will affect the size, shape and the half life of the flowers. You are very kind to your friend go on for your good deed.
Thank you Zain! Have a great day!

Hey Sheryl, I've never divided out Max Tenuifolia. It has growths like that all over. I thought about it, but I love to see (and smell) the whole thing in bloom just covered with flowers. Ours was in a small pot that I set inside a larger pot, and then inside an even larger pot. I just added some rocks each time. I grow it hanging instead of on the bench as it seems to do better that way. I may try and repot some of the clumps that are hanging down like you did. It would be nice to get to grow another one of these and see how big it will get too. haha...
cheers,
BD
"sigh"...................I need to try another one of these I guess.
That mother plant looks super healthy Sheryl. Nice work!
Looks good to me
