The cross is V.( used to be Asctm) garayi x miniatum . Now registered ( Motes, 2016) as V.Ashleigh Elizabeth Johnson. Flowers are a whole one cm ( 10mm) across - natural spread. As one of my late departed orchid trade friends used to say , the name is a lot bigger than the plant.
Still, it is quite free flowering as you can see . The plant is growing in a 4 inch plastic basket.

Mr Motes came to UK a few years ago, by invitation of the then Chair' of Wessex Orchid Society ( of which I am a member) and did a little tour, giving talks- which I attended, and selling his plants - which I bought, and this is one ; double spikes for me most years.
We get very few opportunities to buy vandaceous stuff here in UK, - one dealer used to do an annual importation from one of the Thailand nurseries, but he stopped, saying he couldn't make it pay. I did not understand that, since he was buying FS or BS large flowered Vandas, at US $6 or 7, and selling at UK pounds 25 or 30 ,which seems to me to be quite a good margin ! but then I don't know the details of the rest of his operation... No one , of course, breeds or even raises them and grows them for sale, but then the Uk horticultural trade in general is not known for being innovative, or imaginative ; I tried many years ago ( 30, or more ) to start a little side-business ( very much "side" since my "trade" was being an Intellectual Property lawyer ) doing this, starting by raising bought flasks of seedlings, intending to go on to breeding, but UK bureaucracy and CITES killed it before I could get off the ground.

Whatever... history. As you may say, old men do ramble on a bit...
