My care must not have been very good if it took 6 years to bloom, but I am happy that whatever I am doing now is working.

An interesting “species” - lobbies. I have been told ( by Kew, I think) that it is a hybrid swarm - which accounts for the enormous variability. It does need to be a big clump to flower I think, maybe it hates being disturbed, and I’m sure Jack can think of other Bulbos in the same category. But those big flowers do make a real statement.

Geoff, I would agree with you, I have 12 different ones and only a few that I have bloom as a smaller plant but most have to be well established. I really did not expect them to bloom this spring as I just repotted them so very glad they did, there are some amazing colors in them.
