Adore this color! Isn't it interesting the time of days varies for fragrance of blooms in different orchids?

You got the varnish pot out on those petals Zain !

Sheryl said "Isn't it interesting the time of day varies for fragrance " ... Yes indeed - what it tells you is what time of day the desired pollinator is out and about. Producing fragrance is very energy intensive, so the plant does not want to waste it if there is no pollinator to be attracted - hence for example, most white flowers ( pollinated by night flying moths, etc ) are only fragrant at night, sometimes only on moonlit nights.
Now there is another excuse to get up at 2 in the morning and wander into the orchid house........

It is quite shiny isn't it? That's very interesting Geoff regarding the pollinators. Nature is just wonderful and full of surprises!

Thanks Geoff for your kind word.....I looks another angle and I agree with you, talking about pollinator basically we are away from original habitat more than 1000 kilometer no special flies here to pollinate the flowers so sad but good for us as the flowers lasting, but my fingers is very itchy to make self pollinator.
