Only one cane flowering this year, but more flowers on it than I have ever seen on a single cane of this ( or similar) Dens before.
The cross is infundibulum x formosa. Both are in the same section of the genus which was called "nigro hirsute" when I started growing. The name refers to the very fine black hairs all over the canes . Nowadays it is called Section Formosae - the original name was thought racist . No I don't know, either.
They do need rather more water in winter - this section - and that is why my plants suffered last year.
However more TLC is the name of the game this year - if I didn't spend so much time in queues being "socially distanced" 2 metres apart, and waiting an hour to get into a shop... Coronavirus is not good for orchids either, you see.
