Has not bloomed since 2018 been trying to find the perfect location and I think I finally figured that out. These were very difficult to photograph so ended up using a process called focus stacking to get good clarity.
In an earlier post reply from today I mentioned that I am about ready to not post the name I have on the tags of my orchids, it seems that someone will always tell you it should be called something else. This one can be called Bulbophyllum blumei or Bulbophyllum maxillare so the possibility of 3 different names for the same bloom it is getting to the point of ridiculousness, if the powers that be every decide to work this all out who knows if that will solve the problem not to mention the stir it will cause. Getting too old for this crap, it is times like this you just wish for the good old days!

My gosh, that is amazing! And unless you are planning to take an orchid to a show for judging - who really cares about the names? I like to have some idea of the names, but they get changed so often we decided to just check when repotting and update tags them. Really a stunning color and shape, Jack.
cheers,
BD
Oh my word ; stunning.
But as to names , I think this one is good ; I already knew more or less what it would look like before I saw the pic. It means "the bulbs' which looks like a mazzie " . Perfect.
Of course the one which really gets beginners tied up in a knot is Dendrobium phalaenopsis ( section) .... How can not be a dendrobium, if its a phally, they cry....
Thanks Geoff! Until someone who knows what he is taking about tells me one of my orchids has a different name then they stay the name that is on the tag. I have had that happen recently with a couple of my bulbos but when you get told by Jim Cootes what the correct name is you go with that new name. I agree with you on the phalaenopsis there is also a Bulbophyllum phalaenopsis that I have had some ask if the name was correct seeing as it was not a Phalaenopsis moth orchid.
Very confusing indeed and I hate it never ending story keep changing the name.....anyway your is awesome and one more I saw with the lower petals extending about 3 cm so nice if you can get that variety definitely so worth.
Well whatever the name is Jack, it is stunning! One of the classiest looking orchids I've ever seen!
