    An interesting species. Obviously a cymbidium from the flowers, but the plant vegetatively is very different. Flowering on a single bulb - normal for this plant , which is a mere thickening of the stem, and which continues to grow, year-by-year, with just the leaf bases of the older leaves forming the bulb.
    Flowers about 3 inch across, wirth a nice and rather different scent, almost aromatic.

    A very interesting story from an undoubted orchid specialist. Very beautiful pure white flowers. But the growth habit makes us wonder what else but cymbidium could be in them. Is it sure that it is a pure Cymbidium hybrid? As anohter fact I lke to mentione that I am glad to read a post from Dorsett Man since few days.

    LuHa: unless I misunderstand, I do think Geoff means the species Cymbidium mastersii.
