    Lightbulb Dendrobiums

I have raised orchids for 3 years now. I live in a tropical climate and just attach orchids to my frangipani. they do well although it rains 300 days a year. Was raining 3 days this week. I use a highly draining media (crushed volcanic rock, chopped coconut husk, charcoal) I have to move them under the eaves when rains the entire week, which is often, but overall they're fine when you leave them alone. Dendrobiums are hardy and grow well here

I don't bother moving my dendros when it rains a lot. This year, we've had a whole couple of months where it rained almost everyday. I left all my orchids, including the phals and cattleyas under the tree. But, I was comfortable doing that because I repotted all my orchids into hydroton mixed with bits of bark and charcoal so they're all well draining.
