Might work depending on the ambient temperature. Even in central Florida we occasionally experience nights that may go as low as 23 f. My wife uses one like pictured, and if it is forecast to get really cold, she runs an extension cord with a light bulb (incandescent) to protect from freezing. Bricks may absorb enough heat to act as thermal ballast thru the night. Certainly worth trying!
