If you are capable and willing to water it heavily at least once a day, why not?

My sister gave me a phal keikei, and I was wanting to consider mounting it to a price of driftwood. Would it's care be more along the lines of a vanda? (With much less light of course.) Hers are all growing in bark in a half barrel and doing quite well, but she has none mounted. And I have never dealt with a phal.

Kinda what I do with my vanda's now, so maybe I'll give it a try when (or if) it gets a little larger.

Yes, try mounting. A Phal is best mounted with the crown pointing downwards. Then water can run out freely without causing rot. I grow Phal lindenii and parishii that way.
