It has been an interesting weather year here in Arkansas. This year I planted corn, tomatoes, and okra along with sunflowers. It may take a couple posts to get the photos. Anyway, things are coming along well. I would love to see what your gardens are producing this year...

Nice! That's one huge tomato!
Nice looking plants. That okra actually looks like a hibiscus.
So, I pulled a bunch of tomatoes before the bugs and birds got them. So many were getting red but would have holes in them from birds or bugs. Anyway, I think they should ripen in the window here. My aunt taught me a trick this year. Take a fully ripe tomato and cut it into thick hamburger slices and put a slice into good quality potting soil. Water. In a while new tomato plants will grow up from the slice. I'm doing that for fall tomatoes this year. Another trick I'm going to try is to cut the old tomato plants off about 4 inches above the ground, water and fertilize, and see if they sprout new tops. She said she did that this year and some came back while others didn't make it.
For years I have canned tomatoes in jars, but last year I learned a better trick. Since in the winter we use up just about all the tomatoes we canned from the summer before, last year we just cut the tomatoes into quarters and put into freezer bags and pushed all the air out and froze them. We use them for cooking in soups and other dishes, so when I'm ready to make a dish with the tomatoes, I just cut the bag off and let it defrost enough to break the pieces apart and put them in the dish to cook. Always good and saves so much time and expense. Canning in glass jars is so pretty, but it takes a lot more effort. If you have the freezer space and will use what you put up in the freezer over the winter, then freezer bags is the way to go! haha..
Anyway, I hope your gardens and orchids are keeping you happy!

What a bountiful produce. I would love to have my own vegetable garden if not only that I lack the space to grow some of it.
This is wonderful. Looks like you took care of your garden a lot. BTW I also had a great tomato production last season.
