    Smile Rhynchostylis gigantea 'Spot'

So, I saw Arne's post and wanted to see if any of our Rhynchostylis orchids were blooming. I found this guy. I always love seeing it in bloom.

That's lovely Bruce. Yours is red while mine probably is closer to the type in nature. But there are so many other color varieties.
I wouldn't mind getting an orange clone myself.

Beautiful! I love the waxy appearance. Is it fragrant?

Awesome! Isn't it wonderful to go out and browse the orchid house and find a beautiful surprise?

Oh, orange would be wonderful too. This one has the faintest white spots on the blooms. They hardly show up in photos.

Thank you. It is a thick bloom, Sheryl! I didn't think to smell it. I seem to remember it does have a fragrance.

It is so wonderful to see you here again. And, yes, one of my favorite things to do is visit the greenhouse and find a beauty like this one in bloom.

    cheers,
