    Default Spathoglottis hybrids

It appears to me that most orchid collectors do not include Spathoglottis plants (spa) in their collections. Spa are ground orchids and not terrestial. There are more and more hybrids being introduced. In Thailand, the species spa are on some of the endangered lists now.

I think that they are incredibly beautiful plants, not only the blooms, but the foliage and leaves too. Spa bloom year-round in my Thai climate. And they are orchids!

I never have dealt with spas before, so they are also new to me. But here in Chiang Mai, we have perfect weather for their growth.

I have two spas (one yellow and one multi-color-- 6 pictures) and plan on ordering two more soon in different colors.

MY BLUNDER! I totally misunderstood the meanining of terrestrial. I thought it meant something like 'out of this world'. In fact, it is just the opposite meaning: 'of this world'. Spathoglottis plants are ground orchids, probably more terrestrial than most other orchid plants. Sorry!

Ray sure let me know about 'terrestrial'. I honestly thought it meant 'not in this world'. I know where I made my mistake. It goes all the way back to the movie "ET". Funny.
