    Default Recommendations?

So im taking a day trip in a couple weeks up to a big grower in connecticut, known for their pleuros. Anyone have recommendations on really weird, out there pleuros or similar condition loving miniatures that i may or may not have heard of, and should look for (and of course BUY) while im up there?

A genus I love & will have to try again -- Scaphosepalums. Most look like mouths that want to bite. Most are small plants though not as small as many pleuros. Growth habit is very much like Masdies

    Colin,

Big growers not only know what conditions their orchids love, but they also know what's 'special' in their collection. I'd recommend spending some time checking out their collection - be sure and ask to see the stuff that's not for sale - that's usually stunning. Ask lots of questions, really pick the person's brain, and then when you're humming on an orchidous wavelength, tell the person what things turn you on and ask if they could recommend something(s).

That way you get the most out of your visit and their expertise.

Take a camera and be sure to share it all! Well...unless you have to offer youself up for that prized specimen...
