Hi
I'm a complete novice and was given this orchid as a present. I've had orchids before and limited success with them so when I got this one she had about 6 blooms - direct from the shop. I keep her on a window sill (ledge) with limited to no direct sunlight, and our flat is kept extremely warm - average 24 degrees C (75 degrees F) but recently with a warm summer here in the UK the temperature has been up to 30/86. Twelve moths after purchase and with watering approx once every 12 days she's gone into major bloom and I'm thrilled. With no label I believe she's a Phalaenopsis - could anyone give me any more specific info? Or is it jut not that simple,
Thanks and go easy on me - I'm just starting out!

Everyone here started out a novice! Lovely blooms and obviously very happy with you! Good Growing!
Welcome, Deb! Most of us began with a Phal too! Don't forget to fertilize (once a week to once a month at 1/4 strength) and you could probably up the light a bit and your plant wouldn't mind. My Phals are light hogs, but I wouldn't make drastic changes all at once.
As to identifying her, the Phals are so intercrossed, I wouldn't trust a guess at a name. She's simply a lovely NOID (no identification.) Congrats on reblooming her!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess I should have realised that orchids are as hybridised as everything else. Well now I know. I'm very pleased with her and she's still throwing up buds.
Best wishes
Deb
