    Hi Qing,

I see yours have some moss on the roots. Do you grow them in your house/apt? Does daily watering give the moss time to dry out? That's why I love moss, there's not a lot of guess work about how wet it is. A poke will do. If I poke everything daily, and something's crispy the next day. I know it wasn't the day before and that the top has only just dried out, so the roots are still good.

Tindo - that's one serious hunk of a mount! That's:

    Testostero Mount!

Were you planning on growing a small city on it? And would the glass case be part of the plan?

You definitely have to go head to head with Darrin - he'd be awesome at helping you plan this Franken'chid metropolis!

Wonderful job on the mounting lesson Julie! I just wanted to show you all one of my mounted babies! Believe it on not, but this is the baby! I took this division off of my larger brysiana, and brought it home to get it established.

Thanks Tindo. Julie, I grow my orchids in my apt, the humidity is not high. I need to water the small mounted plant (1st picture) twice a day, the big plant once a day. I water them when the moss is crispy dry, I just run them under the shower. Twice a day watering is a pain for me, I plan to add more moss to the small one once it grow more roots.

I also have stick mount plants. I did the similar thing like Julie did, add moss to the stick. The stick dried up so fast even with twice a day of waterig, the stick started to crack. I was worried the stick will fall apart, so the moss is mainly to keep the stick from cracking, wasn't thinking about the roots at all. After seeing Julie's photos, I am going to add moss to all the stick mount plants I have.

Aaron, you're seriously scaring me! I'm not sure if it's the Brobdingnagian plants or your penchant for chopping folks' heads off...

Somehow the combo is whiggin me out!

I'd suggest that your mounting requirements pass beyond my range of experience. You might want to consider some heavy equipment operators in your area.

She cut my head off in one picture, so I figured I would do the same to her!
