Interesting names, verrucosa(Isn't that greek or latin for spider, like spider veins are Verrucos veins?)

Hmmm. Lots of good points. I did repot when I got it and the pot is a little larger than ideal because I didn't have the right in between size. Maybe that's it. Also, it's hard to keep it moist enough. I'll try harder.

I bought mine as a bare root 2+ years ago. It is the smallest of the three plants but the first to bloom. It has a rather clove like scent during the day. I will try to remember to check it tonight to see if there is a change.
They get a lot of sun and this summer have had lots of water. I cut back the fertilizer and at least got one of them to bloom. The whole spray is open today.

I like the flower, but I heard the plant is big. Not good for my crowded indoor growing area.

It can get bushy, but it's not a tall or sprawling plant. If you were interested in a Brassia, Qing, go for it, and then divide it as it got too large for your space. My verrucosa is getting large, but it puts up 3-5 large spikes when it blooms, it could easily be divided. I've two others that are still quite small, but have bloomed.

Does Brassia Rex Sakata have faint linear striping on the leaves? This one does (very faint), but it is very pronounced in the new growth. Is that normal for this plant? She seems to be very happy. Here are pics of the new growth and the whole plant.

My Rex has no striping--that looks kind of cool!

But I have good news--mine finally decided to throw a spike! Seems a little out of season, but I'm happy and can relax a little about it now.

I love the striping but alas mine is pure green which is far better than brown,LOL.
