Beautiful! Everything looks so green and lush in the background of your photos. It is so dry here. I wish it would green back up before summer is 'over'.

My favorite photo is the second one. It is so clear and the bloom is perfect!

Brassia Rex is a primary hybrid cross of verrucosa x gireoudiana. My verrucosa grows like a weed, but it does need cool winter nights to bloom well. Mine usually blooms in June-July. Brassia Rex tends to bloom Apr-Jun, but it can vary.

I'd expect Cin's climate to be a bigger challenge than Colorado, Mehera. How long have you had yours?

That sounds like something for me to be hopeful about McJ. I can do cool! Sitting here shivering this morning because the nights are getting nippy.

I've only had it since spring, but I thought all summer it should do something. Bright light, right?

Just lovely. I like the way the dark spots appear on the outside of the buds and you have so many more to open. Congratulations!

Bright light, don't let it dry out too much between waterings. Is it in the right size pot? Too big a pot will push off its blooming cycle.

I've also found that plants you've just purchased undergo such a dramatic change in their conditions, it can delay blooming. I swapped plants with a friend early this summer. I got an Eria division. Her other two Eria divisions bloomed together in early July, while mine took another month. She got an Epi species of mine that blooms like clockwork every June. It didn't bloom for her till late August.

Figure a season for the plant to settle down. If you get a bloom during that time it's a bonus. After I've had a plant a full calendar year, then I start wondering what's up with its culture if it still hasn't bloomed. Of course smaller plants might not be strong enough to bloom every year. That's especially true for some of the larger Paphs. It might take two years for new growths to sufficiently mature to rebloom. But Brassia Rex shouldn't be too fussy.
