I did have some catt hybrids that just threw out flowers without even forming any visible sheaths.

Hmmm...very informative. I have some young catts that keep sheathing but no buds. I was thinking it has something to do with not enough light......? Maybe. And you know, I should have thought of it but I should be watering more often when the plants are spiking even if it is winter and they are inside.

Hybrid catts can change from year to year as to whether they produce a sheath or not. My Blc. Pamela Finney made thick very large sheaths last year and this year no sheaths but buds are pushing out.
