I voted for dividing - because I always get an attack of 'stupid' when I divide plants - - - cut here? no, here? uhm, does that look like it will be a growth? is that enough bulbs? is it too young? I always end up looking at the plant and thinking "maybe I CAN squeeze it back into a pot whole".

Admit it Julie -- You're probably even more anal rententive about it than I am!! You always do everything just so.

    Diane,

The word anal-retentive is hyphenated. Please correct your post.

Insect probs are rare for me. I'd say it's a toss-up between disease control & repotting. Disease-wise, phals are typically the only ones with which I have problems. Repotting I find to be a pain -- especially since I hate to damage & remove roots. So repotting takes me FOREVER.
