I got this from Norito.... I couldn't resist photographing it in place, peeking out from among the leaves. Has 3 more buds behind...
The yellow on the pouch is a little washed out from the flash.

Very pretty!

Ooh--I think I need a yellow one! I always think the slippers with those quirky little bristley horizontal petals are so cute.
Mehera, those would be the species in the Cochlopetalum section of Paphiopedilum. They're five species, all of which are sequential bloomers:
victoria-maria
victoria-regina (aka chamberlainianum)
glaucophyllum
liemianum
and primulinum

That's a particularly nice one Diane... nice wide dorsal!
And McCochlo... don't forgot Paph moquettianum which although has been accepted by many growers for yonks, has only recently gained acceptance as a separate species by the RHS.
Who knows... maybe Paph kalinae will also be taken out of victoria-regina (fingers crossed, coz then I will have another one )
You're right, your lordship - I did forget!

Thank you Miz Julie--hanging around with you I may learn something yet! :-)
Not the best Eric Young, but a nice first bloom plant. Very vigorous plant with 5 growths, plus 2 little starts.
Nice sized bloom, with great texture and color saturation, but I would hope for a more open blossom, and I don't know how the "experts" feel about the wavy edges... But I like it!
