In nature, Brassavola nodosa is found in many variable conditions... they can be found in the forests in shade, or they can be found outside of the forests on dead trees in full sun.
My personal opinion is that is does best in full sun... in situ and in cultivation, they tend to easily make specimens in full sun. Also, try giving it a dry period around winter. If you want to put in full sun, the plant has to gradually be introduced to more and more sun (unless you have a Hexalectris spicata!)... it can take weeks though...
Anyways, nice picture, it is quite dramatic looking... it looks as if you need to give it more water, those leaves shouldn't be anorexic...
