The discoloration is an indication of too much light...

I am not talking about desication and drying. I am talking about a nice light purple or magenta color. I'll post a picture if I can get the chance to.

I'm with Pat - that leaf looks pretty thirsty. You might want to up the water.

a few weeks ago it started sending out new roots like mad, so is stuck it in s/h it aint thirsty no more

i keep it wet, the new roots are supposed to adapt
