    Default Paph. sanderianum

    This is 'Deep Pockets' x 'Jacob's Ladder'. With a leafspan of 21 inches, it should be ready to bloom.

    Unfirt-unately, it's not doing that. In an effort to speed the process along, I put the plant in a "brighter" location.

    And scorched the bejeezus out of it in two days.

    I'm hoping that maybe it'll forgive me. These things can take over twelve years to go from seedling to blooming sized, so that leaf scar from burn can pretty much be considered "permanent." I've been growing this one for 6 of those 12. The second pic is of the two new growths that started popping out from the base.

    Thanks Louis! very nice...can't wait to see the blooms...nice little baby growths too! Interesting...all three are that very light grassy green...

    Thanks for posting, lja! Looks very nice and you're so lucky to see it bloom soon! Nice new growths, so that is a good sign that the plant is close to blooming size. Can't wait to see it bloom!

    Nice plant! Looks very healthy. I bet the blooms will be so beautiful!

    We have a reputation for growing quite the monsters here in Arkansas. Some say it's the water.....

    Yeah I took that out. What's particularly nice about this specimen is that, not only is it herculean, it's uncut as well.
