Sharry Baby in bloom

Sharry Baby is in bloom again. Today is dark and gloomy and rainy, so pic isn't that great! To me, the blooms smell like cakes and cookies baking in the oven, YUMMY!!!

Mine is still growing, I thought it was getting close but now I think not as close as I thought!

The spike on the mother plant is older so it is blooming sooner than your younger spike. You have never seen one in spike in person before? I love the fragrance! Hope you like it too since you like baking but they may smell like chocolate or something else to you.

Nope! I've never seen nor smelled one in bloom before. Actually it will be my first really fragrant orchid to bloom.
I have to roll out/cut/bake sugar cookies *all day* tomorrow for work- my brilliant idea to have a cookie decorating event to sell our cookie cutters. At least the house will smell yummy!

Oh good, must be very exciting for you! So, now you don't have one but two! Oh lucky you! But they do get big quickly.

I like eating them too, but cutting them out is a p.i.t.a! Sharry Baby=all the smell w/ none of the work! Lol!

Your first fragrant orchid? I thought you had a Neo falcata or something like that and aren't those fragrant?

First to bloom! I have three other fragrant species (SPECIES!!!)
Neo. falcata
Max. tenuofolia
Sedirea japonica

None bloomed or spiked yet though. Just growing lots of roots!
