    Default Cycnodes Question

Has any one ever had a Cycnodes spike get stuck under the leaf sheath and fail to bloom? I'm starting to worry about mine.

I think it just takes them a long time, Mark. Don't worry about it too much. We have two of the same Cycnodes and they both bloom differently. Last year just as the leaves started to drop, the smaller one put up a couple of spikes and one made a keiki. The other put up two growths this year and shows no sign of the leaves falling off. These are just odd growers -- at least for us anyway. They make the coolest blooms though. Hopefully, yours is just being a bit stubborn this time around.

    Cheers,
    BD

The spike has died. It's turned yellow/brown.

No, I have not had this problem. I've always had problems with slugs getting to the spike. This year, I did not have the problem with my Cycnodes Wine Delight. I did have problems with my Catasetum Black Jade, though...slugs that is.
