Default Let me introduce myself here

    Hello all!

I would like to introduce myself.

I'm João. I live in Portugal, originally from Madeira island, but at the moment in Lisbon studying architecture. I go back to Madeira for the vacations though.

I have been collecting orchids for 4 years now. So far I have gathered more than 200 orchid plants, both species and hybrids, but more species.
I have a bit of something.. a lot of different genera, but the favourites are Psychopsis, Rossioglossum, Cattleyas and Oncidiums.

Well, just let you know me a little!

Here is a foto of one of my orchids

    All the best regards
    João

Ps: why doesn't my foto show up on the profile name?? Humm..

Ups, forgot to add the name of my orchid. It's Trichopilia fragrans.

    Hello!

    Thank you for the welcome!

Yes, Heather, I have been quite busy trying to get all those orchids. In fact this summer I have another load to add! Ahh... lots of trades! He he..

From what I could see, you both are into Paphs and Phrags! Am I right? I must confessed they are the ones I pass by when I'm looking for new orchids, but recently my interest has been increasing.. I wonder when it will end... arghh.. such an addiction! Lol..

    Kind regards to all!

    João

He he he.... slipper addicts! Lol...

I guess you have most of the species already?

My favourite species is Phrag. wallisii! Wonderful! It's on my wish list. But I haven't found one yet.
With time maybe I'll add one of these to my collection.

    So far, slippers I have:

Paph. insigne (dah, who hasn't got this one??)
    Paph. niveum
    Paph. callosum
    Paph. armeniacum
Paph. species (I can't remember the name right now)
    Phrag. Sedenii
    Phgrag. Grande

I can say I have a representative of each!
    LOL

    Regards

Oh, I just pm'd you but spelled your name incorrectly - sorry!

Oh, wallisii - you will have just made a new best friend by naming that as your favorite! HAHA!!

I am relatively new to the slip addiction (I "slipped", and fell head first! Lol!) but have made much progress in the last several months... Oh, and I do not have insigne.

Oh yes, I love the wallisii species, one of my favorite long petalled Phrag species!

I also love the hybrid Grande which I had just recently divided and sold to 2 members here. I posted pics here in the display section.
