Cattleya forbesii
This small and not so colorful Cattleya just seams to fascinate me; it flowers for me 2 times a year with one to 3 flowers. I grow Cattleya forbesii on a mount of tree fern, where it seams to be very happy, as it is slowly but surely covering the mount.

Do you have a photo of the mount? I love the bloom! Very nice presentation.

Very nice!
I looked through the pictures of the Cattleya forbesii, I found this one taken in 2004 it shows part of the mount it is a piece of tree fern that I cut off of a tree fern pot I had laying around... in the photo you can see the old broken pieces of fishing line I used to tie the plant on and some of the nz moss I placed over the roots, but this was taken in 2004 and today the plant covers most of this part now. I did grow Cat. Forbesii in a small pot for a year or 2 and yes it grew just fine but one day as I was repotting I just for some unknown reason mounted it on the tree fern, and did it ever take off.
Cool, Laura! Thanks.
Cheers,
