    Default Some of my birds

Aside from the orchids, I also raise parrots.

This is Herbie. He is a 15 mos old Hyacinth Macaw. These are the largest known parrot species

Yellow mutation Red-Lored Amazons. These birds are normally green. This is the yellow form. There are about 8 of these in the world. You can see the normal colour form in one of the pictures

Purple-bellied parrots. These are one of the rarest birds in American Aviculture with only 10 pairs.

Blue mutation Yellow-naped Amazon. This is another very rare colour mutation of a normally green parrot.

White-tail mutation African Grey Parrot. Another rare mutation. Normally these birds have red tails. There are 5 of these in the world!

you have amazing birds and rare mutations! Well I haven't seen those mutations before so they're uncommon. I have a cockatiel, not quite as exciting ... I hope to have more birds one day

Boy llienluu, when you collect you don't fool around! Those birds are so unusual and gorgeous, but I too like the Macaw. His coloring is amazing!
How do you obtain your unusual birds?

So you specialize in color mutated birds? Very Pricey. And a Hyacinth Macaw, another exceptional bird. Nice collection. I am into birds, but I view them in the wild. Have you ever seen any of the birds you keep in the wild? Nothing so stunning as a flock of Macaws or Toucans in flight!

I once found an african grey in the desert. He hopped about a mile over a mountian and through cactus to my house.

The hyacinth is quite majestic! Thanks for showing. Are your orchids as rare as your birds?

Yup. I used to visit my aunt in Australia. It was incredible to see the flocks of parrots...lories, cockatoos, rosellas, etc. fly through her property every day!

Oh wow. Your birds are so beautiful! Just wait till Gin gets on and sees this thread! Lien, I have a blue and gold macaw. He is so adorable. I bet you get tons of joy from being with your birds.

You have quite the collection of everything! I just love the blue bird. I used to have an African Grey. He was my little buddy! I had him for about 15 years, and he died when I was over seas in the Army. I haven't beeen able to bring myself to get another one yet. What alot of people don't understand is how smart they are! Like a 3 year child! We just got 2 new kitties that are Hemmingways. Once we tame them a little more I will post some pics.

WOW! Those are amazing! I loove the purple bellied with that flat head sooo cute - don't think our cat would be to impressed with having a bird for a younger brother... Ooooh btw. we're getting a kitty on th 28th - a norwegiean forrest cat (kinda like main coon..) since we lost our yungest cat over christmas He had a heart disorder and died in my grilfriends arms on the way to the animal hospital - quite emotional - so now we are reallyl looking forward to picking the new guy up.
