One of my favorite catts. Flowers are 3.5" tall, deep purple tips on the petals and lip (almost looks peloric) with a nearly white center, sepals are pink-purple. They have a very strong rose scent.

A wonderful orchid trade. Thanks, G!!

Love that deep purple on the lip & petals.
I was so drawn in those 3 frilly shapes,
I didn't get what Gilda was saying about the "3",
until I saw it right there on the end of the anther/column(?).
    eerie. but still pretty

Welcome to the forum, Rainy! Neither of those two members have been around in a long time, so you might not get an answer about that specific plant. But Cattleyas in general need about four p-bulbs to bloom. Fewer doesn't generate the energy the plant needs. Sometimes young seedlings require more.

When you divide, you always want to leave at least four p-bulbs on each division.
