Finally got the time to photograph this one... this is a division of a wild collected Cattleya percivaliana, which is a released specimen of the Marie Selby Botanical Garden's Living Collection. This primarily lithophytic species is endemic to Venezuela at about 1,000m to 2,000m elevation. The fragrance on this plant smells like pancakes... The blooming on this plant is a little whacky; the new growth sprouted a new growth, and both bloomed simultaneously. The flowers are not fully spread open, as the amount of flowers constricted the size, but they are fairly large and have great form...

That's absolutely breathtaking, Pat!
The colors and the form.
Is that your plant, or one from Selby? If it's yours, what horse head might make you part with a tiny division, LOL!
McDrooling
aside from dowiana/aurea, one of the most gorgeous lips among the unifoliate catts. well-bloomed!
Thanks!
Julie, this is my plant, but is a division from MSBG's Living Collection. Right now, making a division would be impossible, but I'll definitely keep you in mind when it grows some more (there will be multiple growth leads on this one )...

Lovely.
Very awesome blooms, Pat. I don't know what makes one orchid better than another, but this is surely a star show. And smells like pancakes to boot!
Absolutely gorgeous!
Pancakes? I would have never guessed that. I love the fragrance of most of the big floofy catts. I would be interested in getting a whiff of this one, lol! IT is beautiful.
Is it a fast grower, then? Beautiful in any case.Originally Posted by Mahon

Are those pancakes with or without the syrup??
