    Default This was sold to me as Bulbophyllum medusae.

    At that time however, I had already thought that this was more likely vaginatum than medusae, so I referred the iD to Jim Cootes, who told me that if there are hairs on the inner petals then it is surigaense rather than vaginatum. The closeup photo shows the hairs.

    Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur are two provinces in the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. They are relatively sparsely populated , and probably has many more unreported species.
