This is a first bloom for me.I find them hard to grow & flower--possibly due to the aclandiae influence. They seem to be very particular to the potting mix as well.I'm not sure what they want I tried them a few times & they croaked but this one kept in the original mix of the way I got it (H& R) bloomed.![]()
I wish you could buy the same mix as they use!!! I have a couple mtd but they are slow growing not as vigorous but putting out nice roots.Maybe they will catch up.I was determined to get one to bloom!!!! I love the little minicats![]()
That is a beauty!
Almost looks like a Phal wearing 1 off those Groucho Marks novelty moustaches.
Very striking.
If they're hard for you to flower then I won't even try. Very adorable and lots of character on that one, Jane.
It does remind me of a Phal! Very nice spots!![]()
Very nice flower, Jane!

Wow, I'm normally not such a catt guy, but that flower is GORGEOUS. So is it always considered a more difficult one to grow?
John-notice I said 'for me' it's always been difficultI'm sure there are others who have no trouble. It's the aclandiae (spotted) part I think that's the stickler for me but who knows. The cross of Jungle Elf is L esalqueana X C aclandiae.
I've heard that aclandiae is highly temperamental. There was an article in some magazine a while back advocating growing them on *horizontal* branches. Great work, Jane!
My apologies to all!!!
Once again I had a senior moment .This is NOT lc Jungle Elf as I said--but rather lc Jungle Eyes (lc Jungle Elf x c. aclandiae)
