Default Bolopetalum Midnight Blue 'Cardinal's Roost'

First time blooming for me on this one. I got it at a grocery store in Feb. I couldn't resist, even though it had just one faded flower and obvious cultural problems. In less than a week the flowering growth rotted/dried up leaving just a stump. Within a month, the stump put out a new growth which in turn put out the growth that is now blooming.

There were 2 spikes, but I lost one (and most of the leaves) after going crazy with neem oil. All things considered, I'm happy to have even one flower right now. It's been a rough 9 months for this plant!

Nice save, and such a pretty reward. I'd imagine by the time it blooms next, it'll have an impressive spray of flowers for you. What a delicate color...thanks for sharing!

Does anyone know what is the makeup/backround of this plant? The name is pretty odd!
