    Default Brassia Rex 'Sakata'

I have a bunch of Brassia Rex 'Sakata' divisions I'm thinking of putting up on OBids. I wanted to gauge interest here, first, since it'll take me some effort to snap photos and get them all listed. I have two large-ish divisions, each with 1 back bulb, 2 active pbulbs, and 1 new growth. I also have two medium divisions, each with 2 active pbulbs and 1 new growth. Finally, I have one small division with a single active pbulb just finishing development. I was hoping to get around $10 for the larger divisions, $7 for the medium divisions, and $2 for the small division. I hope these prices are reasonable. Shipping will probably be about $4 to $6. Please let me know if you're interested, as these guys are all pushing out new roots, and need to be shipped and potted as soon as possible. All but the smallest division should be darn close to blooming size. Thanks for checking in!

I would take a division from you, but I struggle to keep my Brassia alive. How do you grow yours?

Life snuck up on me over the past week, but I'll be posting all divisions to OBids as soon as I can. Snap them up quick!

Ania, I grow this Brassia under lights, just like an Oncidium. Bright light and even watering year-round. I tried to back off watering this winter, but the pbulbs started to wrinkle. I'm using a fluourescent shop light with two 4ft bulbs, each 32 Watts. The tops of the plant's leaves are about 2" under the lights. Lights are on for:

    MAR-MAY 16hrs/day
    JUN-AUG 18hrs/day
    SEP-NOV 16hrs/day
    DEC-FEB 14hrs/day

    Posted!

Here is a photo of one of the 3 medium divisions in situ in my growing area. The larger division just has more active pbulbs.

Bump! There are still a bunch of divisions available for dirt cheap prices. Get in there and snap 'em up!
