Maxillaria variabilis dark form
Color actually came out quite true. The gleam deep inside the flower's throat is light glancing off what I assume is a globule of nectar? Got this one in trade last October.

WOW---that is incredible! Looks sugar-coated too!
Amazing, I love it!
That's a lovely dark color, Pavel! Could you show the size of your plant? I just got a varabilis seedling and am curious how large it will be before it blooms.
Maxillaria variabilis typically has a red and a yellow color form. I got a seedling of a cross between a red parent and a yellow parent, and the first sibling bloomed a lovely orange. I'm dying to know what my lil' tyke will be.

it will be difficult to stay on good side of the force
Here's a pic of the plant for ya Julie. It's in a 3" pot
Oh cool! Thanks, Pavel! Mine's not very large, but it already has 4 small growths, 3 with 6" leaves.
