Weird New Masdie Leaf

Any clue on this? I don't think it is a problem, just very different looking from all the others. Pics are a little blurry, but I think you'll see. This is the Angel Tang BTW.

I don't know much about Masdies and I have a coccinea and sometimes its leaves come out like that. Don't know why.

Uneven growth like that on new leaves can often mean not enough water. If it's drastic, the leaf looks accordion-shaped with lateral pleats all up and down the new growth.

Did you recently repot this? I've very possible that the new roots which were sustaining that leaf got damaged, so while the rest of the plant is fine, the leaf itself is thirsty.

Not much you can do about it at this point--don't overwater to compensate. The growth will put out new roots eventually, so even though that leaf will remain deformed, the plant will be fine.

Thanks guys, not enough water was my thought too...Nope have not repotted. However it is in a bark mix and does dry out quickly. Much more so than my Confetti, which is in tree fern and sphag. The other new leaf is fine.

Actually, I have always kept mine wet all the time (I was told to ) and some of the leaves come out like that. So, now I'm trying to keep it a little dry and see what happens.

Regular bark mix. Lots of new leaves now but the older leaves don't look very happy.

Hmmm 'nother new leaf looking this way - will increase water and see what happens....

From what I know/ seen, when a leaf grows are crumped like that, it is an indication of too little water during growth.

BTW, I saw some of the most beautiful masdies in bloom today, a yellow and white on that had an absolutely HUGE flower and a pink one. How long did you flowers last for?

My Confetti bloom lasted at least 2, if not 3 weeks and was slightly fragrant to boot. Very nice if you (I) can keep them cool and moist! I think it is too dry for it...not a surprise but hey, one won't know until they try, no?
