I have been reading about some of the approaches to fertilizing orchids. For my potted orchids it's pretty clear. I fertilize with every watering and flush once a month. I target my nitrogen ppm to be 125. Those are watered once a week or so. For mounted orchids I am a little confused. I water my mounted orchids daily. Would the correct way to go about this to be to fertilize once a week with the same strenghth I use on the others and straight water in between? Or water with a much more diluted fertilizer every time or with the 125ppm mix every time? How do some of you approach feeding your mounted plants? Thanks

I water my mounted sedirea japonica everyday by pouring dilute fertilizer over it repeatedly for about 3-4 minutes (I would usually dunk it, but its in bloom, and no blooms in the water!!) I fertilize almost every time I water with 1/4 strength fertilizer that I mix in a gallon jug of water (Unless I have no time, then I just run regular water over it). Hope that helps!
We fertilize ever other time we water. Before fertilizing, we get the plants really wet and then put the fertilizer on them. It seems to help them take it in better.
Mounted plants and potted plants get the same treatment. Since we grow in a GH, even the blooms get the same treatment (which is not good and they do not last much after that).
