Thread: Phal in Dire Need of Help (or is it too late?)

    After you cut the phal in two how long do you wait for the base to dry? Do you leave any roots? I had to cut my phal due to rot and it has no roots. I did not let the plant dry but put it in water... was that bad?

    Also, remove the remaining yellow leaf, cut the old flower spike as close as possibleto the stem and with twezzers try to carefully remove any nastiness on the good stem and also dusting with rootone, specifically, will help retard further fungal growth on the remaining stem and roots because it has an anti-fungal (Thiram 4.04%) component in addition to the 1-Naphthaleneacetimide. According to the MSDS sheet it appears to have both of the most common auxin hormones, but the package label doesn't reflect this.....
