I got this Encyclia species as a trade several years ago...it was billed as an Enc. alata, but the plant and flowers do not match the characteristics of that species (plant is quite a bit smaller, flowers are smaller and lack the yellow anther cap of Enc. alata). After querying various Encyclia experts, the opinion seems to be that this is an Enc. belizensis (aka Enc. guatemalensis)...I concur. So, here, without further ado, is my Enc. belizensis:

PA,
whatever lens comes standard on the Sony Mavica MVC CD400 camera...this camera does not have interchangeable lenses. The lens itself says it's a "Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar" lens. I always shoot in manual mode with the aperture set to f8.0 and the shutter speed bracketed to get the best shot.

Good to know. My POS camera needs to be replaced, so I appreciate the info.
Well, as an all-around versatile camera, the Sony Mavica can't be beat...the new MVC CD500 5 megapixel camera is in the $600-700 range, and because it saves to mini-CD's, you have an instant archive of all your photos.

Bravo Prem! --Another beautiful bloom. Thanks for posting it! I can't believe how cheap the digital cameras are becoming. 5 megapixles for under 800.00? WOW! Now if only they will develop a printer that will print above 3 mps.
Cheers!
