If there is one event that orchid and plant lovers in the country look forward to, it is the staging of the Philippine Orchid Society’s Orchid and Garden shows. Fortunately, our much awaited 61st Mid-Year Orchid Show is just around the corner. Scheduled for August 30 to September 10, 2007 at the Ouezon City Orchidarium, located at the grounds of the Quezon City Hall, this show promises to bring with it a lot of fun and excitement.
This is the time when we get to experience and see many new things in our field of interest. It gives us the opportunity to meet other orchid lovers and learn new things from them - and the experts as well. It is also the time and place to get the new finds and the latest orchids and plants for our collection.
For the commercial growers it is the time to entice and bring in new clients. And as always, it is also their time for them to rake in the profits – it is after all the commercial growers who have a lot to gain from our shows.
For us in the POS It is time once again to bring out our very best and show others what we can do as a society. As always we need everyone’s cooperation, especially the commercial participants, in mounting the much anticipated orchid exhibits we have been known for.
Collectors and hobbyists alike are requested to bring out their best plants for everyone to see and admire. Members are encouraged to join and participate in the different activities and committees.
It is only with the cooperation, participation and support of the members and the commercial growers that we can come up with another fabulous show.
This convergence of orchid and plant lovers in one venue is always a fun and exciting experience. It is something the POS has been doing for the past 61 years. So if you can’t get enough of a good thing, lets all keep it going and help out in ensuring the success of the POS 61ST Mid-Year Orchid & Garden Show! See you all there! [KNBM]
