This is a cross made by a friend of mine. This pic too was taken through bird netting so not the best.
What a lovely purple.
That's lovely. I love vic-reg crosses.... I only have one though (Kuniko = goldschmidtianum x vic-reg), and it's currently suffering from heat or something - lots of keikis and stalled buds....
I like the shape, too. Looks to me like a purple moth, resting.
really pretty color too.
Just saw this thread. I am very impressed with this cross. I've not come across hybrid of Den victoria-reginae ,this being the first one I've seen (albeit in a picture only). The blue of victoria-reginae is truly unique in dendrobiums but unfortunately it is a cool growing orchid and very rarely seen in our tropical lowland collections, if at all. This hybrid with with gonzalesii syn. ceraula should make it warm tolerant. What a mouth-watering thought! I wonder why there aren't many hybrids in the Calcarifera Section of Dendrobium.
hello everyone
sorry i if i ask out of context but can someone tell me or give me a link about how to hydrid orchid
thanks
googling "how to hybridize an orchid" should get you much reading material. Being you are now flasking you know what it takes to grow the seed. I take the anther cap from the pollen parent and fertilize the pod parent. I use a toothpick for this procedure.
