    Default a tiny Slc

(Lc Precious Stones x C. schilleriana) X Soph brevipedunculata I have it on a stick mount in high light. I can't seem to get the color correct. It is a magenta shade and all I can get is red. I color corrected a bit but it is still not the correct shade. The flower is 2" x 2" P-bulb 1.5" tall leaf about 2"

I like the shape on this guy too. I've gotta get a mini red catt too.

My Sophronitis cernua is growing so slowly. It is finally going to send a new growth after a year and that new growth is maturing so slowly....I know hybrids are much more vigorous, but are sophs really slow?

Sophs like most orchids take a long time to reach blooming size and then they eventually reach a critical mass when i no longer call them slow growers. They eventually start growing multiple leads.

thanks ron. I won it in a auction labelled as a blooming sized plant. Unfortunately it was a division of three pseudobulbs and not blooming size. oh well, it'll grow bigger one day

a division should grow faster than a seedling.

yea I would think so too. I am getting growth right now. The new lead its just about to send its new leaf and the base as a swelling that will become another lead. Maybe it had to acclimatize to my environment
